William Ghitis of INVISTA Elected AFMA Chairman

At the close of its annual meeting, the Board of Directors of
the American Fiber Manufacturers Association announced the election
of William Ghitis as the new Chairman of the Association for
the coming year. Ghitis
is President of Apparel, INVISTA. He succeeds Walter W. Hubbard,
CEO of Honeywell Nylon Inc., who remains a member of the Association’s
Executive Committee. He will serve as Treasurer for the current term.
Zach Zacharias, Vice President of Unifi-SANS Technical Fibers, LLC, was elected as AFMA’s new Vice Chairman. He will also serve as Chairman of the Association's Executive Committee.
In addition to Ghitis, Zacharias, and Hubbard the other elected members of the AFMA Executive Committee are: Steven Fredricks, President, Fiber Science Inc.; James Morelli, Executive VP Sales & Marketing, American Fibers & Yarns Co., Henry Poston, President, Palmetto Synthetics, and Robert Rebello, President & CEO, RadiciSpandex.
The American Fiber Manufacturers Association is the trade association for U.S. producers of manufactured fiber. Its members account for more than 90 percent of the industry’s domestic shipments.
