USTR Picks Textile Negotiator

David Spooner, the legislative director for Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC), was named this week as Special Textile Negotiator for the Office of U.S. Trade Representative.



Spooner handled textile issues for Myrick, whose North Carolina district is home to textile firms. In announcing the appointment, Zoellick said that Spooner would help the agency "address the concerns of textile workers and the textile industry." His role will be to help expand textile markets overseas and help the industry "adjust for the future," according to a Feb. 7 USTR announcement.
