LG Electronics curtails 500 employees in the mobile phone/monitor plant in Brazi

LG Electronics announced that it has curtailed a total of 500 employees including 200 regular employees and 300 irregular employees from its mobile phone/monitor plant in Taubate, near Sao Paolo, Brazil under the agreement with the local labor union.

The Taubate plant of LG Electronics was established in 1996 and has been producing 12 million mobile phone units and 3 million monitors each year to supply to mainly South America. LG indicated that it has yet to consider the reduction in employees in other overseas plants.
