Hangzhou City’s Foreign Trade Up 16.9% in Jan-May 2017

According to Hangzhou Customs statistics, from January to May in 2017, Hangzhou City export-import value reached CNY 196.60 billion, up 16.9% year-on-year (YOY). Therein, export value was 131.06 billion yuan, up 5.3%; import value was 65.54 billion yuan, up 50.2%, faster than national import by 23.7 percentage points and faster than Zhejiang provincial import by 7.3 percentage points.

In May alone, Hangzhou export and import totaled 42.44 billion yuan, up 7.4% YOY, including export value 29.49 billion yuan, up 0.8% YOY and up 9% from April; import value 12.95 billion yuan, up 26.0% YOY and down 2.4% from April.

In the five months, Hangzhou's first three trading partners were EU, USA and ASEAN, with export-import values respectively 41.18 billion yuan, 30.38 billion yuan and 24.72 billion yuan, up 9.7%, 5.7% and 26.7% respectively, the three values together accounting for 49% of the total export-import value.

Meanwhile, Hangzhou’s trade with "Belt and Road" countries reached 57.92 billion yuan, up 17.7% YOY, with import growth at 85.5%.
Particularly, the City's high-tech product imports totaled 11.04 billion yuan, up 30.7%, ranking the first in Zhejiang Province; therein, import integrated circuits reached 3.05 billion yuan and import computer and communication products reached 800 million yuan, up 18.1% and up 42.9% YOY.
