Newsflash: East Guangdong Export & Import in Jan-Apr 2017

According to Shantou Customs statistics, during January-April 2017, the east of Guangdong Province (including Shantou City, Meizhou City, Shanwei City, Chaozhou City and Jieyang City) had export-import value totaling CNY 46.55 billion, down 3.6% year-on-year (YOY), while national value up 20.3% YOY and whole Guangdong value up 13.7% YOY. Therein, export value was 35.48 billion yuan, down 9% YOY, while national export up 14.7% YOY and whole Guangdong export up 13.2% YOY; import value was 11.07 billion yuan, up 18.8% YOY, while national import up 27.8% YOY and whole Guangdong import up 14.5% YOY.

In terms of US dollars, the east Guangdong’s export-import value reached USD 6.75 billion, down 9.2% YOY, while national value up 13.6% YOY and whole Guangdong value up 7.3% YOY. Therein, export value was 5.14 billion dollars, down 14.3% YOY, while national export up 8.1% YOY and whole Guangdong export up 6.8% YOY; import value was 1.61 billion dollars, up 12.1% YOY, while national import up 20.8% YOY and whole Guangdong import up 8.2% YOY.

In April alone, the east Guangdong’s export-import value reached 12.62 billion yuan, down 11.3% YOY and down 5.1% from March. Therein, export value was 9.89 billion yuan, down 15.3% YOY and down 6.9% from March; import value 2.73 billion yuan, up 6.9% YOY and up 2.3% from March.
