Hubei Province’s Foreign Trade Up Fast in Jan-May 2017

According to China Customs statistics, from January to May 2017, Hubei Province export and import value totaled 112.23 billion China yuan, up 22.8% YOY, including export value 70.37 billion yuan, up 20.4%, and import value 41.86 billion yuan, up 28.7%.

During the first five months, the EU was the first largest trading partner, Hubei-EU trade value totaling 15.64 billion yuan, up 13.1% YOY, accounting for 13.9% of the total foreign trade; therein, export to EU was 10.06 billion yuan, up 17%; import from EU was 5.58 billion yuan, up 6.8%. Meanwhile:

The USA was the second largest trading partner, bilateral trade value 13.24 billion yuan, up 41.1%, accounting for 11.8%; therein, export to USA was 9.99 billion yuan, up 43.1%; import from USA was 3.35 billion yuan, up 35.4%.

ASEAN was the third largest trading partner, bilateral trade value 12.61 billion yuan, up 11.5%, accounting for 11.2%; therein, export to ASEAN was 9.24 billion yuan, up 17.4%; import from ASEAN was 3.37 billion yuan, down 1.9%.

Hong Kong was the fourth largest trading partner, bilateral trade value 12.24 billion yuan, up 18%, accounting for 10.9%; therein, export to Hong Kong was 12.21 billion yuan, up 18.2%; import from Hong Kong was 30 million yuan, down 23.6%.

In addition, the trade with Japan reached 9.06 billion yuan, up 32.7%; the trade with South Korea reached 8.54 billion yuan, up 1.2 times; the trade with Taiwan Province reached 5.06 billion yuan, up 11.5%; the trade with Australia reached 4.43 billion yuan, up 79.3%; and the trade with India 3.81 billion yuan, up 86.3%.
