Anhui Province’s Foreign Trade Up Fast in Jan-May 2017

According to China Customs statistics, during January-May 2017, Anhui Province export-import value totaled CNY 134.1 billion, up 28.9% year-on-year (YOY), including export value 78.16 billion yuan, up 19.9%, and import value 55.94 billion yuan, up 44%; this May alone, Anhui export-import value was 30.94 billion yuan, up 25.7% YOY, including export value 18.19 billion yuan, up 17.3%, and import value 12.75 billion yuan, up 40%.
In US dollar terms, in the five months, Anhui export-import value totaled USD 19.48 billion, up 21.5% YOY, including export value 11.35 billion dollars, up 13%, and import value 8.13 billion dollars, up 35.9%; this May alone, Anhui export-import value was 4.5 billion dollars, up 18.2%, including export value 2.64 billion dollars, up 10.4%, and import value 1.86 billion dollars, up 31.5%.
From January to May, Anhui trade with “Belt & Road” countries totaled 36.38 billion yuan, up 30% YOY, higher than the provincial growth by 1.1 percentage points, accounting for 27.1% of the provincial total trade value.
From January to May, the United States was the largest trading partner of Anhui, bilateral export and import reaching 20.28 billion yuan, up 21.8% YOY; the EU was the second largest trade partner, export-import value 19.05 billion yuan, up 16.8% YOY; the ASEAN was the third largest one, valued 14.88 billion yuan, up 30.5% YOY.
