Dalian Frontier Trade Up Mildly in Jan-May 2017

For January-May this year, Dalian Customs District posted its petty frontier trade totaling CNY 1.93 billion, up 11.9% year-on-year (YOY); therein, export value was 1.59 billion yuan, up 18.5%; import value 340 million yuan, down 11.3%; trade surplus 1.25 billion yuan.

For May alone, Dalian frontier trade reached 500 million yuan, up 28.2% YOY and up 18% from April. Therein, export value 410 million yuan, up 34.4% YOY and up 19.4% from April; import value 90 million yuan, up 5% YOY and up 11.8% from April.

Major export was electro-mechanical products and major import was lead ore. In January-May, Dalian frontier-exported electro-mechanical products totaled 810 million yuan, up 27.7%, accounting for 50.9% of all export products; frontier-exported high-tech products totaled 330 million yuan, up 65.4%, accounting for 20.8%; frontier-exported telephones totaled 230 million yuan, up 1.5 times, accounting for 14.5%. Over the same period, frontier-imported lead ore reached 280 million yuan, up 1.5 times YOY, accounting for 82.4% of the total import.
