Fujian Province-EU Trade Up Fast in First Half 2017

According to China Customs statistics, in the first half of this year, Fujian Province bilateral trade with EU reached 79.17 billion yuan, up 9.1% year-on-year (YOY); therein, export to the EU was 62.14 billion yuan, up 6.1%; import from the EU 17.03 billion yuan, up 21.8%.

In June alone, Fujian trade with the EU reached 16.23 billion yuan, up 20.2% YOY and up 13.3% from May; therein, export value 13.34 billion yuan, up 23.4% YOY and 21.2% from May; import value 2.89 billion yuan, up 7.5% YOY.

In the first half year, Fujian trade with Germany reached 15.88 billion yuan, up 6.5%, accounting for 20% of the total, as the largest trading partner in the EU. Therein, export to Germany was 11.59 billion yuan, up 3.7%; import from Germany 4.29 billion yuan, up 15.1%. Meanwhile, trade with UK reached 12.73 billion yuan, down 1.7%; trade with the Netherlands 12.29 billion yuan, up 15.7%.
