Fujian Province-USA Trade Up Steadily in First Half 2017

According to China Customs statistics, in the first half of this year, Fujian Province trade with USA reached 95.64 billion yuan, up 20.6% year-on-year (YOY). Therein, export to USA reached 69.3 billion yuan, up 13.1%; import from USA 26.34 billion yuan, up 45.7%; trade surplus 42.96 billion yuan.

In June alone, the Province trade with USA reached 17.05 billion yuan, up 31.4% YOY and up 4.8% from May. Therein, export value 13.47 billion yuan, up 30.2% YOY and up 3.2% from May; import value 3.58 billion yuan, up 36.1% YOY and up 11.2% from May.

In the first half year, Fujian exported electro-mechanical products worth 29.15 billion yuan to the USA, up 20.8%; exported traditional labor-intensive products (including clothing, furniture, footwear, textile fabrics, plastics, bags and toys) worth 28.68 billion yuan, up 6.4%; the two together accounted for 83.5% of the total export.

In the same period, Fujian imported electro-mechanical products worth 10.67 billion yuan from the USA, up 43.3%, accounting for 40.5% of the total import, including aircrafts worth 4.23 billion yuan, a surge of 3.3 times; and imported agricultural products worth 6.65 billion yuan from the USA, up 22.9%, accounting for 25.3%.
