East Guangdong’s Import Value Up 21.8% in First Half 2017

In the first half of 2017, the eastern Guangdong region’s foreign trade totaled 75.37 billion yuan, up 0.4% year-on-year (YOY). Therein, export value was 57.91 billion yuan, down 4.6%; import value 17.46 billion yuan, up 21.8%; trade surplus 40.44 billion yuan, down 12.8%. In the second quarter, its foreign trade rebounded from the first quarter, up 1.5% YOY.

In the first half year, ordinary trade in the east region reached 63.37 billion yuan, up 1.7%, accounting for 84.1% of the total trade, 1.1 percentage points more than the same period last year.

In the first half year, east Guangdong-based private enterprises trade reached 48.44 billion yuan, accounting for 64.3%; therein, export value 43.23 billion yuan and import value 5.21 billion yuan. In the same period, foreign-invested enterprises trade reached 23.25 billion yuan, up 1%; state-owned enterprises trade reached 3.67 billion yuan, up 23.1%.
