Shantou Toy Export Value Down, Price Up, in First Half 2017

According to China Customs statistics, in the first half of this year, Shantou City export of toys was valued 3.099 billion yuan, down 0.5% year-on-year (YOY), with export price up 12.8% YOY and quantity down 11.7% YOY.

Regarding the export markets, nearly 50% exported to ASEAN, Europe and the United States. In the first half year, Shantou toy export to ASEAN reached 638 million yuan, down 49.2% YOY; export to EU reached 535 million yuan, up 71.8% YOY; export to the USA reached 300 million yuan, a double increase YOY. Over the same period, more than 200 million yuan worth of exports also included Hong Kong, Russia and South Korea markets.

Since this year, the average export price has been rising, because of the increase in expensive electric toys as well as increase in the manufacturing cost and raw material prices.
