East Guangdong Export & Import Values in Jan-Aug 2017

According to Shantou Customs statistics, in January-August 2017, in eastern Guangdong Province (including Shantou City, Meizhou City, Shanwei City, Chaozhou City and Jieyang City), exports and imports totaled RMB 102.88 billion yuan, down 2.2% year-on-year (YOY): therein, export value 79.86 billion yuan, down 7% YOY; import value 23.02 billion yuan, up 18.9% YOY. In US dollar terms, the export-import value was USD 15 billion, down 6.9% YOY, with export 11.64 billion dollars, down 11.4%, and import 3.36 billion dollars, up 13.3%.
For August only, east Guangdong’s export-import value was 13.46 billion yuan, down 8.3% YOY and down 4.1% from July. Therein, export value 10.57 billion yuan, down 12.7% YOY and down 7% from July; import value 2.89 billion yuan, up 12.6% YOY and up 8.2% from July.
