Xiamen Imported Pork Less YOY in 2017

According to Xiamen Customs statistics, in 2017, Xiamen Customs District registered imported pork totaling 6,863 tons, 17.7% less than 2016 (YOY); worth 87.83 million yuan, down 18.8% YOY; average import price at 12.8 yuan/kg, down 1.3% YOY.
Import Characteristics:
(1) Mainly imported by ordinary trade mode;
(2) The EU was the largest import market: Xiamen imported 4649 tons of pork from the EU in 2017, down 31.1% YOY, accounting for 67.7% of the total; therein, 1159 tons from Denmark, a substantial increase of 83.4%; 1103 tons from Ireland, up 47.5%; 882.5 tons from Spain, down 71.4%. In addition, 1904 tons were imported from Canada, up 34.6%, and 285.8 tons from the USA, up 2.9 times.
