Rail Transit Equipment Exported More from Shanghai in 2017

According to Shanghai Customs statistics, in 2017, Shanghai-exported rail transit equipment totaled 5.94 billion Yuan in value, an increase of 20.4% year-over-year (YOY).

Export Characteristics:

(1) Export in December increased YOY and dropped MOM. In December 2017, the export of rail transit equipment reached 380 million yuan, down 54.7% month-on-month and up 7.4% YOY.

(2) The amount of ordinary trade export was 2.77 billion yuan, down 6.1%, accounting for 46.7% of the total value; export by foreign contracted project reached 2.57 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1 times, accounting for 43.2%. In addition, processing trade export reached 580 million yuan, down 48.3%.

(3) Argentina was the largest export market, more exports to Pakistan and Kenya:
In 2017, the export to Argentina reached 1.08 billion yuan, down 21.9%, accounting for 18.2% of the total value; export to Pakistan reached 810 million yuan, up 19 times, accounting for 13.6%; export to Kenya reached 780 million yuan, up 5.2 times, accounting for 13.1%; export to EU reached 570 million yuan, up 31.7%; export to USA 570 million yuan, up 5.2%.

(4) Externally-powered railway and tramway vehicles exported the most, locomotive exported double YOY.
