China "Regrets" at Australian Anti-dumping Probe of Aluminum Products
[2009-06-26 12:10:11]
The spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce, Yao Jian, voiced regret Wednesday over Australia's probe into alleged aluminum extrusion products dumping by China.
It is the third anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation launched by Australia into Chinese products within a year.
"China hopes Australia would carefully carry out the probe and investigate the case fairly and transparently under the rules of the World Trade Organization," Yao said.
Australian Customs said in a notice in local newspapers Wednesday that aluminum extrusion products "have been exported to Australia from China at prices less than their normal value, that countervailable subsidies have been received."
The probe will examine goods exported to Australia from July 1, 2008 to June 30 this year.
China is Australia's second-largest trading partner. The two countries started free trade area talks in 2005.
