Notice on Conditionally Resuming Import of Tallow from Countries Infested with Mad Cow Disease (Joint Announcement No. 73, 2010)

By the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China
In accordance with relevant laws and regulations in China, referring to relevant standards of the World Organization for Animal Health, based on scientific assessment, as of the date of promulgation of the Announcement, allow import of tallow (content of insoluble impurities no more than 0.15%) and its products from countries infested with mad cow disease that conform to the requirements of inspection and quarantine of China and are for industrial use only.Implementation of relevant requirements on tallow in Announcement No. 407 on September 28, 2004 by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China shall be suspended.
