Cambodia Throws Embroidered Ball to Yunnan Entrepreneurs, Investment in Import & Export Enjoying Full Duty Exemption

On Oct. 11, 2010, an illustration meeting concerning investment in Cambodia was held in Kunming City of Yunnan Province, China, jointly sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).
With 10 reasons to invest like "political stability, macro-economic stability, pro-business government, competitive preferential policies for investment, and one-stop service by investment promotion authorities", the Cambodian side illustrated to the present Yunnan enterprises numerous benefits of investing in Cambodia.
According to the Cambodian side, with respect to the preferential policies, full duty exemption shall apply to the import and export for a period of 9 years; foreign-invested enterprises in Cambodia enjoy no requirement for nationalization, are free from every control on foreign exchange and shareholding proportion, and may hold 100% of their enterprises in any field; the only difference from domestic enterprises is that foreign investors can not buy land, but may rent land for 99 years.
Moreover, the Cambodian side mainly introduced Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone to the Yunnan Entrepreneurs, which is one of the first overseas economic and trade cooperative zones approved by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM). This Special Economic Zone is jointly developed by Taihu Cambodia International Economic Cooperation Zone Investment Co., Ltd. and Cambodia International Investment Group Co., Ltd; it is one of the best investment platforms for southwest enterprises in China to go global and enjoys all kinds of preferential policies formulated by the two countries.
