China has agreed to end ban on soybean oil imports from Argentina, the world's largest exporter of soybean oil, and shipments are expected to resume next week, sources reported.

"The Chinese government has allowed Argentine shipments of soybean oil, following the negotiations carried out by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner during her official visit to Beijing in July", said Argentina's Agriculture Minister Julián Domínguez, adding that "China's Agriculture Minister Han Changfu is to meet with Argentine officials on Nov. 12".

China, one of Argentina's largest partners in terms of soybean oil, suspended the oil shipments of the commodity in April. Officials didn't reveal the reason of the suspension but said that it was related to Chinese health concerns.

In 2009, the Argentine government imposed restrictions on imports, which resulted in decreased purchases of appliance and textile imports from China.
