On Adjusting the Catalog of Entry-Exit Commodities Inspected & Quarantined by Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Organs

Joint Announcement No. 158, 2010 by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the P. R. China and the General Administration of Customs of the P. R. China

In accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on Import and Export Commodity Inspection and its regulations for the implementation, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the P. R. China (AQSIQ) and the General Administration of Customs of the P. R. China (GACC) decided to jointly make relevant adjustments on the Catalog of Entry-Exit Commodities Inspected & Quarantined by Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Organs (2011) (below referred to as the Catalog under Statutory Inspection).

Relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:

1. Supervision condition for 91 HS Codes concerning some textiles, elevators, ceiling fans with power no more than 125w, and non-automatic washing machines equipped with centrifugal drying machines shall be adjusted from A/B to A/.

2. Supervision condition for HS Code 8211910000 (table knives having fixed blades) shall be adjusted from A to A/B.

3. Supervision condition for HS Code 3101009020 (forest litter being treated chemically (including rotten leaves, rotten roots, bark, leaves, roots and other forest humus)), 3101009090 (Other animal or vegetable fertilizers, chemical treated), 7117110000 (cufflinks and studs, of base metal), 7117190000 (imitation jewellery, of base metal), and 7117900000 (imitation jewellery, of materials not elsewhere specified or included) shall be adjusted from blank to A/B.

4. According to the adjustment of the HS Codes for 2011, the AQSIQ and the GACC have made relevant changes to the Catalog under Statutory Inspection.

5. Imports/exports listed in the Catalog under Statutory Inspection shall be subject to inspection and supervision of entry/exit inspection and quarantine authorities; and importers/exporters shall undertake import/export formalities at customs authorities presenting the Commodity Inspection Certificate of Entry Goods or the Commodity Inspection Certificate of Exit Goods issued by the entry/exit inspection and quarantine authorities.

6. The Announcement shall take effect as from January 1, 2011.
