China to Keep Software Value-Added-Tax Preferences

On Feb. 9, 2011, China's web www.gov.cn released its State Council's notice on the Policies for Further Development of Software & Integrated-Circuit Industries, which involve seven aspects of finance & tax, investment & financing, research & development, import & export, human resources, intellectual property, and marketing.

On the finance & tax aspect, the Policies clearly grant the continuation of preferences for software value-added tax and the exemption from business tax for eligible software or integrated-circuit enterprises engaging in software development & test, info system integration, consultancy & maintenance, circuit design, etc.
