GACC Announcement No. 21, 2012 on MFN Rate on NZ Agricultural Products

Announcement No. 21, 2012 of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC)
As per China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, China conducts special safeguard measures on 11 HS Code-covered agricultural products from New Zealand (NZ).
On April 19, 2012, the GACC announced on its website www.customs.gov.cn the import quantity of the covered NZ cheese (HS Code 04061000, 04063000 and 04069000) near the safeguard triggering level of 2012.
Till April 23, 2012, the declared import of such products has totaled 4,535.23 tons, exceeding the safeguard triggering 4,376 tons of 2012.
So, from April 24, 2012, import duty shall be levied on those covered cheese at the most-favored-nation (MFN) duty rate.
Regarding the in-transit imports thereof, their duty application and other matters shall be subject to the GACC Announcement No. 91 of 2008 regulations.
