GACC Announcement No.19, 2014 on Special Safeguard agst New Zealand Cheese

In accordance with China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, China may conduct special safeguard measures against New Zealand agricultural products under 12 HS Codes.
Till February 27, 2014, the GACC revealed that the import of cheese (HS Codes 04061000, 04063000, 04069000) from New Zealand has been declared 5,250.009 tons, exceeding the Chinese safeguard triggering norm of 4,824 tons for 2014;
Hence, as of February 28, 2014, the import duties shall be levied on the New Zealand cheese at China's MFN duty rates; as regards such import in transit, their duty application shall resort to GACC Announcement No. 91 of 2008.
