GACC Announcement No.59, 2014 on South Korean Samsung Changes in PTA Antidumping Case

In accordance with China Antidumping Regulations, China’s Customs Tariff Commission decided to levy antidumping duties on purified terephthalic acid (PTA) importing from South Korea and Thailand for five years from August 12, 2010.
Recently, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) has allowed South Korea’s Samsung General Chemicals Co.,Ltd. involved in the antidumping case to inherit the antidumping duty rates and other rights and obligations applicable to original Samsung Petrochemical Company Limited from South Korea. Relevant matters are hereby announced:

1. As from August 11, 2014, as regards the importing PTA declared in the name of Samsung General Chemicals Co.,Ltd., China Customs shall levy the antidumping duty at the rate of 2.0%; as regards those declared in the name of Samsung Petrochemical Company Limited, China Customs shall levy the antidumping duty at the rate of 11.2% applied to “other South Korean companies”.

2. Other issues about the PTA antidumping duties herein may still resort to GACC Announcements No.51 of 2010 and No.45 of 2013.
