GACC Announcement No.30, 2016 on (HongKong/Macao Origin Certificate Electronic Version)

In order to facilitate goods trade between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong or Macao, hereby announced are relevant matters with electronic version of Certificates of Origin (C/O) under the Mainland-Hong Kong and Mainland-Macao Closer Economic Partnership Arrangements (CEPAs):
1. As from 1 May 2016, China Customs will receive and accept CEPA Certificates of Origin issued in an electronic way by the C/O issuing authorities of Hong Kong and Macao SARs.
2. China Customs will no longer require mainland importers to submit original paper C/O under the CEPAs during the course of import declaration; but, if necessary, the importers shall submit the printed copy of the C/O.
This Announcement shall enter into effect as from 1 May 2016.
