GACC Announcement No.70, 2017 on Agric Import QTY from New Zealand in 2017 & Safeguard Triggering QTY in 2018

In accordance with China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and GACC Announcement No. 91 of 2008, China is keeping special safeguard measures against 12 HS-Coded agricultural products (under four categories) from New Zealand. Hereby announced are the import quantity applicable to the FTA conventional tariff in 2017 and the special-safeguard triggering quantity in 2018 (see the Annex).
The category Ⅰ agricultural products imported from New Zealand in 2017 (HS Codes 04012000, 04014000, 04015000) total 9,278.786 tons, and en-route quantity thereof reached 7,261.786 tons, exceeding the special-safeguard triggering norm of 2,118 tons for 2018. Hence, the FTA conventional tariff shall not be applied to the category Ⅰ agricultural imports from New Zealand in 2018.
All four categories of agricultural imports shall still be subject to GACC Announcement No. 91 of 2008.
