On August 26, 2010, Tianjin Customs of China formally launched the reform pilot projects on Customs clearance by classification of imports, providing fast Customs clearance services for class AA & class A enterprises.
It is learned that Customs clearance by classification means that China Customs authorities will, when receiving enterprises' documents for Customs declaration, extend different treatments based on their credit standings and risk levels, conducting rapid release for the low-risk ones, while focusing on the Customs inspection and clearance for those with high risks, thus China Customs authorities can keep things under control and enterprises may enjoy fast Customs clearance.
After the successful initiation of the pilot projects at Tianjin Free Trade Zone, Tianjin Customs will also gradually expand the reform pilot scale so as to optimize the regulatory efficiency in a wider range and create a Customs clearance environment with high quality and efficiency.
