China's regional customs clearance refers to a clearance model expanding the functions of ports to its inland.

Recently, China's Urumqi Customs and Hefei Customs have signed a memorandum of regional customs-clearance cooperation. From now on, when exporting goods to Central Asia from Anhui Province, enterprises can only declare their exports to Hefei Customs and then go through inspection and release procedures at the ports of Xinjiang region.

It is said that Urumqi Customs actively strengthens its cooperation with the customs authorities in China's Bohai Sea region, northwest-east railway region and pan-Pearl River Delta region, with sound communication/coordination measures established to jointly serve enterprises and to make Xinjiang the platform and channel for China's open westward.

Currently, Urumqi Customs has launched the operation of "declaration at origin but inspection and release at ports" with 20 equal customs like Tianjin, Xi'an and Beijing ones, along with business transfer with 132 lower customs.
