China Yunnan "Direct Exp. Release" Shortens Customs Clearance

[2012-03-02 14:13:26]

From July 1, 2011 to Feb. 22 this year, China's Yunnan Province has facilitated 8,055 batches and USD 210 million worth of merchandise exports through the policy of direct export release, averagely reducing 2 hours or more from the customs-clearance duration per batch.

The direct export release takes on the practice of "inspection at origins and certification at ports", under which inspectors/quarantiners at Yunnan ports issue directly the After-Inspection Certificates for Exit Goods for qualified exports, instead of onsite inspection, based on online inspection certificates forwarded by local inspection/quarantine organs.

Through the policy, the export clearance gets more efficient thanks to the exemption from unloading and inspection at ports so that exporters can cut down their clearance and stockpile costs.
