China Resumes Tariff Exemption Policy on Imported Copper, Nickel and Aluminum

Recently, Ministry of Commerce and General Administration of Customs jointly announced that, related authorities will resume tariff exemption policy on imported copper, nickel and aluminum from February 1, 2009 for the sake of protecting enterprise against global financial crisis, maintaining steady growth of foreign trade and adjusting restricted and prohibited processing trade list.

It is regulated that, 1730 articles with 10 bits commodity code are deleted from restricted commodities list including products in textile, plastic, wood, hardware industries etc which accounts for 77% total volume of restricted products of processing trade with processing trade export volume about 30 billion dollars.
