The U.S. Department of Commerce preliminarily ruled on May 6, 2010 that an anti-dumping duty should be imposed on the seamless refined copper pipes/tubes imported from Mexico and China, the duty rate for China to be from 10.26% to 60.50%.

Under the current schedule, the U.S. Department of Commerce will make a final ruling in September 2010 on the anti-dumping case of the seamless refined copper pipes/tubes made in China.

This is another trade remedy case recently in the United States involving Chinese products. On April 21, 2010, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced to launch anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations into the aluminum sections imported from China. On April 22, 2010, the U.S. Department of Commerce preliminarily ruled the levy of anti-dumping duty on the seamless steel pipes/tubes imported from China.
