Announcement on Initiating an Anti-Dumping Investigation on Dispersion Unshifted Single-Mode Optical Fiber from the U.S. and the European Union

In accordance with the provisions of Article 16 of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Anti-Dumping, the Ministry of Commerce of China decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation as of April 22, 2010 on the dispersion unshifted single-mode optical fiber originating from the U.S. and the European Union. Now relevant issues are hereby announced below:

As of the release date of this Announcement, the Ministry of Commerce of China will initiate an anti-dumping investigation on the dispersion unshifted single-mode optical fiber imported from the U.S. and the European Union. The period of dumping investigation confirmed is from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009 and the period of investigation on industry injury is from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2009.

Products under investigation shall be under 90011000 in the Customs Import and Export Tariff of the People's Republic of China. Other types of optical fiber, optical fiber cluster, and optical cable under this HS Code will not be included in this investigation.

The investigation herein shall be initiated as of April 22, 2010 and shall be concluded prior to April 22, 2011 in general. Under exceptional circumstances, the investigation may be extended to October 22, 2011.
