CBSA Initiated Mid-Term Review of Anti-Dumping on Certain Flat Hot-Rolled Carbon and Alloy Steel Sheets and Strips from China

On July 22, 2010, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued a Notice on initiating the mid-term review of anti-dumping on certain flat hot-rolled carbon and alloy steel sheets and strips originating in or exported from China, Chinese Taipei, Ukraine, South Africa, and India so as to redefine the normal value and export prices of products in question.

CBSA will make a ruling on the review prior to November 30, 2010.

The deadline for submission of questionnaires is August 30, 2010.

In the case of failing to submit complete questionnaires on time or refusing on-site inspections, punitive tariffs of 77% will be levied on enterprises involved.

In addition, as part of the mid-term review, the CBSA will also initiate a survey (Section 20 Survey) on market-economy industries.

Interested parties to provide relevant evidences shall submit to the CBSA prior to August 30, 2010.
