European Commission to Levy Final Anti-Dumping Duty on Sodium Gluconate from China

On July 30, 2010, the European Commission delivered a Note to the Commercial Office of the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the European Communities, revealing the final ruling of the anti-dumping case on the sodium gluconate from China.

Two Chinese enterprises cooperated with the investigation. Therein, Shandong Kaisheng Biochemical Co., Ltd. still got MET (market economy treatment) with a duty rate of 5.6%; while Qingdao Kehai Biochemistry Co., Ltd. was given IT (individual treatment) again, the duty rate slightly down to 27.1% from the preliminary ruling of 27.3%; and the duty rate for other enterprises was reduced to 53.2% from the preliminary ruling of 53.4%.

From August 11, 2009, the European Union (EU) launched an anti-dumping investigation on such Chinese products and implemented provisional anti-dumping measures as from May 4, 2010, affecting Chinese exports to the EU with a value of about USD 5.88 million.
