China Imposes Final Anti-Dumping Duties on the U.S. Broiler Products

[2010-09-26 14:46:17]

China's Ministry of Commerce announced on its website today that it will impose anti-dumping duties of up to 53.4 percent on broiler products or chicken products imported from the United States for five years, starting Sept. 27, 2010.

The ministry said that the dumping of U.S.-originated broiler chicken products has caused substantial damage to its domestic broiler chicken industry.

In late August, the ministry has slapped final countervailing tariffs on U.S.-based chicken products it claims received government subsidies. It said importers of white-feathered broiler chicken products will have to pay equivalent duty based on the alleged US government subsidy of 4 to 30.3 percent of the import price.
