On December 29, 2010, the General Administration of Customs of the P. R. China issued the Tariff Implementation Plan for 2011, taking effect as from January 1, 2011. Therein, export tariff on wooden disposable chopsticks in 2011 is temporarily set at 10%.

According to this Plan, in 2011, China will apply lower annual provisional import tariff rate to 637 kinds of resource-based products, basic raw materials, and key parts/components.

Meanwhile, export tariffs are still to be imposed by provisional tariff rates on "two highs and one resource-based" products such as coal, crude oil, fertilizers, and nonferrous metals.

In addition, the export tariffs on certain rare earth products will also be raised as from January 1, 2011 to regulate rare earth exports and ease the upward trend of fertilizer prices. Moreover, some adjustments have been made on the applicable period of peak and off-peak seasonal tariff rates of fertilizer exports and the benchmark prices of export tariffs in off-peak season.
