China Takes Zero Tariff on Stone from Africa

A white paper on China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation issued by the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China indicated that more than 4,700 items of commodities exporting to China could enjoy zero tariff among the least developed countries establishing diplomatic relations with China till the end of July 2010, and would gradually cover 95% of the commodities of all items.

It is told that exports of benefited commodities from Africa to China showed rapid growth under the pull of zero tariff policy. From 2005 to the end of June 2010, China totally imported commodities from Africa with a value of USD 1.32 billion under the policy of zero tariff, including agricultural products, leather, stone, textile and clothing, mechanical parts, wood products, etc.
