Chinese Mainland & Taiwan Mutually Cancel Fiber Tariffs

According to some media reports, from Jan. 1, 2011, Chinese mainland and Taiwan region have mutually cancelled in advance the tariffs specified in their Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement.

Hereafter, tariff exemption can both apply to 136 kinds of fiber exports from Taiwan to the mainland, making up 2/3 of Taiwan's total thereof, and to 22 kinds of fibers from the mainland to Taiwan, making up 1/10 of the mainland's total.

Additionally, the tariff-free goods also include petrochemicals, automobile parts, machines, and steels.
