China's Ministry of Finance recently issued a notice about exempting import duties on exhibits purchased in China-ASEAN EXPO during the "twelfth five-year plan" period.

The notice claims that, approved by China's State Council, exemption from import duties has been granted to imported exhibits within a reasonable quantity sold during the exhibition period in the China-ASEAN EXPO from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2015 (but excluding commodities banned from import, endangered animals/plants and their products, 20 commodities outside tax preferences, and automobiles outside tax preferences); however, import VAT and consumption tax are to be levied on such exhibits in accordance with regulations.
