On May 18, 2011, at the request of the European Association of Metals, the EU launched anti-circumvention investigation on molybdenum wires originating in China.

The claimant said that some of China's molybdenum wires were transited from Malaysia and Switzerland (whether or not marked with the origin in Malaysia or Switzerland) in order to circumvent anti-dumping measures.

The involved products are under the EU HS Code ex81029600.

In April 2009, the EU launched anti-dumping investigation on China's molybdenum wires, and in June 2010 made its affirmative final ruling.
