According to China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, China's tariffs on dairy from New Zealand will continue to lessen from January 1, 2012 on, with zero tariff for infant formula milk powder and yoghourt from the country, posing great influence on its imports of infant milk powder.

It is reported that China kept a high import volume of infant formula milk in retail packaging over this first half year to 34,200 tons, up 2.91% year-on-year, mainly from Singapore.
