China Steel Tubes Face Investigations in Australia

In response to an application from OneSteel Australian Tube Mills Pty Ltd., director of the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service announced official start of anti-dumping investigation on hollow structural steel tubes originated from China, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Thailand, said Zhejiang Kingland Pipeline and Technologies Co., Ltd (szse:002443) on October 11, 2011.

According to the announcement, Australia will also launch anti-subsidy investigation on hollow steel tubes from China at the same time.

The Chinese company has started coping with the "double-anti" investigations by setting up a "double-anti" team and engaging professional lawyer firms.

The products involved in this "double-anti" investigations are some electric-resistance welded (ERW) pipes, including round or non-round hollow steel pipes that are galvanized or not galvanized. Customs import tariff codes of the investigated products are 7306.30.00, 7306.61.00, and 7306.69.00. Kingland Pipeline and Technologies is an enterprise involved in the case while the products involved are galvanized steels tubes which outer diameters is over 21 millimetres to 165.1 millimetres (7306.30.00:iron or other round-section welded tubes made of non-alloy steel).
