China's AD Probe into Ethanediol & Diglycol Monobutyl Ethers

On Nov. 18, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) released Notices No. 82 and No. 83, announcing the launch of antidumping (AD) probes into coated white cardboards originating in the U.S. and ethylene-glycol monobutyl ether and diethylene-glycol monobutyl ether originating in the U.S. and EU.

Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether are a kind of dissolvant widely used in water-based coatings.

As per the Notices, on October 8, 2011, the MOFCOM received the formal request of China's coated white cardboard industry and ethylene glycol monobutyl ether/diethylene glycol monobutyl ether industry for antidumping investigations.

The two investigations get started from November 18, 2011, generally will be terminated by November 18, 2012, but can be extended to May 18, 2013 under special circumstances.
