With 2nd-Stage ECFA, Over 400 Taiwanese Goods to Take Zero Duty

According to Chinese Taiwan's United Daily News, China mainland-Chinese Taiwan ECFA (Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement) will enter into the second stage of lowering duties in January 2012.

More than 400 kinds of Taiwanese goods, which account for over 81% of the goods in the Early Harvest List, will enjoy zero-duty treatment on their exports to China mainland. Taiwanese exports of agricultural products, such as fresh orchid and saury, will enjoy zero-duty treatment in 2012.

ECFA will come into force from January 1, 2012, import duties on the Early Harvest goods negotiated by the mainland and Taiwan will be gradually lowered to zero in the next 3 years:

In 2011, there were 72 Taiwanese goods under zero import duty of the mainland; in 2012, there will be 437 goods to enjoy the treatment; and in 2013, another 30 goods will take the zero duty.
