China Takes 12.14% MFN Duties on Leather Imports for 2012

For 2012, China takes 12.14% as the average Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) duties on leather imports.

Particularly, China is poised to:

Levy 6.04% duties averagely on leather imports from Peru, 6.1 percentage points lower than the MFN average, 1.04 percentage points down year-on-year; therein, the duties on raw cattle hides are lowered to zero.

Lower import duties on some leather chemical materials, plastic or textile bags/suitcases, and boot/shoe accessories from Chinese Taiwan; therein, the average on leather chemicals is lowered from 6.28% to 4.25%, duties on some plastic or textile bags/suitcases lowered from 10% to 5% or from 5% to 0, and those on some boot/shoe accessories cut down from 5% to 0.

Levy 0.46% duties averagely on leather imports from Chile, 11.68 percentage points lower than the MFN average, 0.15 percentage points down year-on-year.

Levy 0.6% duties averagely on leather imports from New Zealand, 11.54 percentage points lower than the MFN average, 2.26 percentage points down year-on-year.

Levy 7.45% duties averagely on leather imports from Pakistan, 4.69 percentage points lower than the MFN average, 0.37 percentage points down year-on-year.

Levy 8.26% duties averagely on leather imports from Chinese Hong Kong, 3.88 percentage points lower than the MFN average, 0.14 percentage points down year-on-year.

Levy 10.32% duties averagely on leather imports from Asia-Pacific region, 1.82 percentage points lower than the MFN average, 0.05 percentage points down year-on-year.

Levy 6.21% duties averagely on leather imports from Costa Rica, 5.93 percentage points lower than the MFN average.

Continue special preferential duties on leather imports from least developed countries/regions, which are cut down from 6.98% to 6.54%, covering 37 nations more than 36 of last year.
