On March 7, 2012, the Secretariat for Foreign Trade under Brazil Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) released a notice deciding to launch antidumping (AD) investigation into China's austenite round stainless-steel welded pipes under Mercosur HS codes 73064000 and 73069020.

Considering that China was not treated as a market economy in the antidumping procedure, Brazil plans to choose Chinese Taiwan as a substitute market to calculate the normal value of involved products.

Other interested parties can apply to Brazil for participating in the investigation and appoint their legal representatives within 20 days from the issue date of the notice.

As quite a lot of manufactures were counted, Brazil will choose those with larger export quantity as respondents and send them questionnaires. The involved enterprises have to fill in the questionnaires and submit replies within 40 days from the sending date of the questionnaires.
