Indian Dumping Duty Imposed on Phosphoric Acid Imports from Israel, Taiwan

Definitive India anti-dumping duty has been imposed on phosphoric acid imports from Israel and Taiwan.

The anti-dumping duty would be applicable on all grades other than agriculture and fertiliser and would last for five years, according to the Revenue Department.

Phosphoric acid is a chemical used in beverages and pharmaceutical industry. It is also used in seed processing, sugar juice clarification, sugar refining and food phosphate manufacturing.

Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals Ltd, Baroda, had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping duty on phosphoric acid imports from Israel and Taiwan.

Based on the final findings of the designated authority in the Commerce Ministry, the Revenue Department has imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty of $174.06 a tonne on all phosphoric acid produced by Rotem Amfert Negev Ltd and exported by Israel Chemicals.

For any other combination of producer and exporter from Israel, the anti-dumping duty has been pegged at $194.51/tonne.

In the case of Taiwan, the anti-dumping duty has been pegged at $116.45/tonne.
