Canada Final Two-Anti Ruling on Chinese Oil-Pipe Pup Joints

On April 10, 2012, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announced its final anti-dumping and anti-subsidy rulings on China-made oil pipe pup joints as follows:

1. The dumping and subsidy for Chinese tubing pup joints have posed material injury threats to Canadian domestic industries;

2. The dumping and subsidy for Chinese casing pup joints have not caused material injury or hindrance or material-injury threat to Canadian domestic industries.

Based on the CITT rulings, the Canada Border Service Agency will levy anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties on the Chinese tubing pup joints.

On September 12, 2011, Canada started the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations under HS Codes 7304.29.00.51, 7304.29.00.59, 7304.29.00.61, 7304.29.00.69, 7304.29.00.71, 7304.29.00.79.

On March 12, 2012, the Agency finally ruled anti-dumping duties of 80.2%-173.4% and anti-subsidy duties of CNY 563.9-9,125.6/ton on Chinese enterprises involved.
