According to Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, petitioned by BlueScope Steel Limited, it has started an antidumping (AD) probe on the hot-rolled steels imported from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Chinese Taiwan.

The products are under HS Codes 7208.25.00, 7208.26.00, 7208.27.00, 7208.36.00, 7208.37.00, 7208.38.00, 7208.39.00, 7208.53.00, 7208.54.00, 7208.90.00, 7211.14.00, 7211.19.00.

BlueScope Steel’s petition indicates that those hot-rolled steels are exported to Australia at a price lower than their actual value by means of reducing or restraining prices, profit margins, earnings, employment rates, wage spending, and return on investment, thus material injury inflicted on Australian industries.

The Australian authority reveals that this probe will involve the products exported to the country from the four sources between April 1, 2011 and May 31, 2012, determining the existence of their dumping.
