The U.S. Continues AD Probe on Xanthan Gums from China & Austria

On July 19, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) endorsed Obama Administration's continuation of an antidumping (AD) probe into xanthan gums from China and Austria by holding that they have inflicted injury on American industries.

On the Commission's approval, the U.S. Commerce Department can push forward the antidumping probe.

The probe may lead to U.S. punitive tariff on Chinese and Austrian xanthan gums with respective 154.07% and 145.02% dumping margins affirmed by the Commerce Department.

By estimate, the Department will give a preliminary ruling in November; to levy antidumping duties, the USITC will put to vote again whether those imports have posed serious injury to American manufacturers.
